For the last 6-8months I have heard a lot of people telling me "you can't play poker in Thailand,it is illegal".I too also thought this until I researched this fact. It is NOT illegal to play poker..it becomes illegal if you play for cash or property. So with this in mind I would like to talk a little more about this issue. The club I am opening is a poker club, but I will not be ever having an "open house policy" so every person that enters our club will be a member. Every member will get a members number and if you want to play in a game you can: Phone/text or email and quote your members number, We will phone or text you back within 5 minutes letting you know if there is a place available at the game running. This is so we can facilitate all our members and not have a situation where people turn up only to be turned away because the game is full.
Upon arrival if you want to play a live game you will have two options:
1. you can go to our computer and transfer from your online account to our house account the amount you want to buy-in for. The same will apply for cashing out. This will create a cash free area and you will need No cash to play in our game.
2. you can have a house account and can use this to get chips to cash in and out.
I know at the start this will not be possible so we will have to relax our rules a little but once we get everyone with a members account it should work out.
I know this is not the perfect situation but in Thailand we have to play by Thai rules as much as we can. This is also in your interest for security reasons and you don't want to have to ever carry a lot of cash in Bangkok.
I would really love some feedback regarding this idea. you can email me at
